Rocker Love

Nothing says "I love you" like a little skull and crossbones. I spotted these skull designs on Valentine's day foreshadowing a hard edge accompanying spring sales. Don't be afraid to show your dark side every now and then. Displaying a rocker edge as an accessory is the perfect way to incorporate this trend into your spring wardrobe.

Look Out for Cut Outs

Be on the look out for cut outs this spring. Check out the ultra chic and ultra sexy ribbed microfiber dress on this fashionista (who just so happens to be my roommate). The cut outs extend around the back leaving just enough to the imagination. Also note the keyhole cut out on the left. Keep it coming DC.

Put Your Best Prada Forward

In a recent trip to a not-so-straight part of town, I was in awe at the collection of beautiful men's shoes. Whether paired with jeans or dress slacks, EVERY gentleman frequenting Halo on P and 14th completed their ensemble with style.

It's easy to see,
Tips pointed or square,
Fresh signature martinis,
Go with fashionable footwear.

Bravo guys!

street chic

I have several friends from New York that come to DC thinking that there will be no fashion scene what-so-ever. Having actually worked in the DC fashion biz for a few years, I find the comments ignorant, but not any more uninformed than other Washingtonians. Most people in DC don't realize that major design labels such as Salvatore Ferregamo and Oscar de la Renta put on fashion shows in DC, but they do!

There's a lot more to DC fashion than the socialites and ladies who lunch trunk shows. There is DCist style--street chic and it's creeping up all over the metro area. I am on the look out to bring you stylish and realistic tips to staying street chic in the metro.
